FAQ

Frequently asked questions about QuizNeko. If your question isn't covered here, please reach out via the Contact page.

1. How do I earn points?

Points are awarded per question the moment you submit a quiz, based on a transparent formula that combines your country's point rate, the question's global difficulty, and whether you passed the quiz threshold.

  • Taker reward — answer a question correctly while scoring at least 40 % of the quiz's total possible points. Harder questions (those most people get wrong) pay more.
  • Author reward — when other users take your quiz, you receive roughly 15 % of what a taker earns on each question (with a floor on effective difficulty).
  • Referral milestone — when a user you referred reaches 50, 500, or 5,000 lifetime correct answers, you receive +200 P (pending) each time.
  • Referral sign-up bonus — if you join with a valid referral code, every taker and author reward you earn during your first 30 days is increased by 10%, applied automatically.

The full formulas and edge cases are described in the Reward Policy. Self-attempts (taking your own quiz) earn nothing on either side.

2. Are points related to advertising revenue?

No. The point system is entirely independent of QuizNeko's advertising activity.

  • Points are derived from a fixed formula tied to quiz activity (correctness, question difficulty, threshold). They do not depend on ad impressions, clicks, or any advertising revenue.
  • Clicking ads, viewing ads, or having ad-blockers enabled has no effect on your point balance.
  • QuizNeko may display ads (e.g. via Google AdSense) to fund operations, but advertising revenue and the reward ledger are tracked separately. See the Privacy Policy §5 for details about advertising cookies.

3. How does the refund (cash withdrawal) work?

Once the refund feature is enabled, eligible users will be able to convert their balance into a cash payout through the following procedure:

  1. Complete identity verification (KYC) once.
  2. Register a payout method (bank account or equivalent).
  3. Confirm your balance meets the minimum withdrawal threshold: 5,000 P.
  4. Submit a refund request. The request enters anti-fraud review (typically within 5 business days).
  5. Upon approval, the equivalent amount is paid out within 7 business days, and the matching points are debited from your ledger.
The refund feature is currently disabled. Your points continue to accumulate and will become redeemable once the feature is activated. See the Reward Policy §2 for the full procedure and the Terms §4 for legal conditions.

4. How does QuizNeko prevent fraud and abuse?

Several layers protect the integrity of the reward system:

  • Anti-bot screening — submissions are evaluated for automation signals (timing, click patterns, device fingerprint, IP). Suspicious attempts are blocked and flagged for admin review.
  • Multi-account detection — if the same device, IP, payout method, or identity verification is reused across accounts, rewards may be canceled.
  • Referral abuse pattern — when a user's referrals show signs of inorganic or abusive behavior, the referral channel may be locked and pending referral rewards may be cancelled. Specific thresholds are not disclosed to prevent gaming the system.
  • AI-assisted moderation — reports and answer-correctness appeals are screened by an LLM before reaching human admins, keeping the queue fair and fast.
  • Audit trail — every reward is recorded as a ledger transaction with up to six decimal places. Admins can adjust balances and the history remains visible.

Confirmed abuse results in revocation of accrued points, denial of refund, and suspension or deletion of the account. In severe cases QuizNeko may pursue legal remedies. See the Terms §5 for the full prohibition list.

5. How is the "Recommended" order determined?

The default Recommended sort — used on the quiz list and the home page — is designed to surface quizzes from active, engaged authors. Quizzes are ranked by the following criteria, in order:

  • Your language first — quizzes translated into your current language appear above the rest (always on the home page, and on the quiz list when a language filter is applied).
  • Active authors — authors who have correctly answered at least 2,800 questions in the last 14 days form a top group; their quizzes come first, ordered by total number of takers. However, questions from your own quizzes are excluded from this count.
  • Everyone else — the remaining quizzes follow, ordered by the author's correct answers over the last 14 days, then by total number of takers.

The Latest (newest first) and By takers (most-taken first) sort options are also available and do not use this author-activity weighting.
